Sustaining our Community

The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Learning Disability Community of Practice is pleased to announce bookings are now open for the 2018 conference. The theme for the day will be ‘Sustaining Our Community’.

The aim of this event is to network and share good practice and initiatives in the care and support for people with learning disabilities. We also want to consult on how the Community of Practice might develop in the future.

There will be a variety of workshops to choose from, including a session from Viv Cooper OBE, CEO of the Challenging Behaviour Foundation. We will also be launching a new KSS Community of Practice Facebook group.

Call for contributions
We are looking for local people to share their work at the conference by either presenting a workshop or producing a poster.

The closing date for applications is 25 May 2018. Applications should focus on the three purposes of the Community of Practice which are to:

  1. Be person centred
  2. Provide the best quality care and support
  3. Improve equality and access
