In May 2017 Paradigm launched The Gr8 Support Movement for Direct Support Staff (support workers, teams leaders and manager) working across the UK with children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism.
The Movement is the first of its kind. It is values-based, thought provoking, encouraging and highly interactive.
It deploys contemporary methodologies to develop genuine connections and facilitate shared learning and mutual support across the membership.
The Centre for Research in Autism and Education (CRAE) is a unique initiative that has at its heart the ambition to improve the lives of autistic people and their families. It is the first Centre in the country committed to conducting ground-breaking scientific research to enhance evidence-based knowledge about interventions, education and outcomes for autistic children, young people and adults. Participants will have the opportunity to feedback on a proposed model for categorising and accessing SAR reports and learning, discuss the practicalities of submitting new reports to the library, and input to plans to develop complementary resources, including Quality Markers for SARs.

NHS England, 2017 ‘top tips’ guide aims to support commissioners, providers and clinicians to reduce inequalities in palliative and end of life for people with a learning disability, focusing on ‘The Ambitions for Palliative and End of Life Care’.
These six ambitions provide a framework for national and local health and care system leaders to take action to improve palliative and end of life care. Developed by 27 organisations across the palliative and end of life care system, these ambitions set out what high quality palliative and end of life care looks like. The ambitions call on leaders from every part of the health and care system, and the wider community, to put the framework into practice.
Ryan had been in a secure unit since the age of 15 and the possibility of living independently was never an option. However when, at the age of 27, he was diagnosed with autism alongside his mental health issues, things changed radically. The new diagnosis allowed the local authority to look for solutions outside of mental health services.
