A survey carried out by the CSA and community Care magazine amongst social workers has been published. The report finds that social workers feel under pressure to reduce care packages for vulnerable adults, with some fearing the reductions are unfair and unsafe, with 68% of respondents admitting they were expected to cut care costs to meet budgetary requirements. Southern Health NHS Trust admits guilt over Connor Sparrowhawk’s death
Southern Health Trust pleaded guilty at Banbury Magistrates’ Court earlier this week to breaching health and safety law in the case of Connor Sparrowhawk, 18, who died at Slade House in Oxford in 2013. Southern Health’s interim Chief Executive said that Connor’s death was ‘entirely preventable’ and admitted that the Trust’s subsequent actions added to the family’s distress. Read more here. |
