Blood tests for people with learning disabilities: making reasonable adjustments

England have updated this resource which contains ideas and good practice in relation to the provision of reasonable adjustments relating to taking blood from someone with learning disabilities.

In October 2014, Jason Conroy murdered Melissa Mathieson, 18, at a Bristol home providing special care for adults.

A serious case review into her death found care home staff had not acted on recommendations in a forensic report.

Government extends suspension of minimum wage enforcement in the social care sector

The government announced a further one-month suspension of minimum wage enforcement concerning sleep-in shifts in the social care sector to minimise disruption to the sector and seek to ensure workers receive the wages they are owed.  Read more here.
