Learning Disability placements wanted!

Canterbury Christ Church University is looking for more learning disability placements for their mental health nursing students, and interested parties are invited to contact Cathy Bernal, Professional Lead for Learning Disability, for further discussions.

Services providing support to adults with a learning disability in day or residential settings that would like to help our students to learn about their clients’ needs are welcome to get in touch. There is no need for your service to employ nurses, or even to have a particular interest in mental health – just a desire to help equip nurses of the future to work more effectively with people with learning disabilities. Students are allocated to these placements in the first year of their programme for eight weeks,  and are customarily visited by a lecturer at least once during their placement.

Evidence suggests that our existing placements find supporting our students as rewarding and stimulating as students find this experience enjoyable, so please don’t hesitate to contact Cathy:

Thank you!
